and because of that now we have the best urban school district in california. our test scores have gone up every single year since i've been on the school board. and, in fact, last year was the first time we started closing the achievement gap, which is not the easiest thing to do for any school district. i can't tell you this right now because it's in bargain, but we know our test scores as a district and we're going to be showing when it comes out in a week or so that it's going to blow everybody's socks off in terms of where we have landed. and a lot of this is through the work of staff and the superintendent and for us to be focused on what we're doing we need to improve student achievement. now, why am i talking about education that much? mainly because i have a public record of eight years, a proven track record where i've worked with people and gotten results. so, this is the type of independent voice that i'm going to bring into district 7 as a supervisor. i will bring not only my leadership, my ability to build bristol-myers squibbvxes and build consen
